Turning Twelve, Ten, Seven, Five & Three

Yesterday I overheard Willow telling Miah that it is her 1/2 birthday on the 29 of this month…Yikes, I haven’t done a single birthday post!  Now that we are 6 months past the first of the 5 birthdays, I think it is time.

Amirah turns 3!

Amirah has spunk.  Amirah has personality.  Amirah is full of life.  If you look closely at the pictures below you can get a taste of that spunk and personality I am referring to.   She woke up the morning of her party in rare form.  She knew the day was all…about...her!  Things to note in the collage…She didn’t want to show us how old she was and so gave us her arms crossed, mad face.  Then we begged and she said, “Fine!  Just a little” and did the thing in front of her face.  We all started to giggle and then she gave us about 15 funny faces,  I’m telling you, she is full of spunk!  She picked a bug theme for her party décor, which is very ironic considering she is deathly afraid of anything creepy, crawly.

Romee Turns 5!

Romee chose a princess theme for her party.  She requested that her guests come dressed in princess/royalty attire.  I tried to explain that many of her guests might not have any princess clothing to wear and asked her if that was okay.  She replied with, “Yes, I guess that’s okay.  I will maybe cry just a little.”  I immediately made some phone calls to be sure a few cousins came dressed for the party.  Fin won the award for the best costume.  Niki was very clever, and Romee was elated that even Fin got into the princess spirit.  A few things to note about the collage…Love, love, the pictures of the princess and her frog!  Romee has been asking for an American Girl doll for a couple of years.  She was sure she wasn’t going to get one until she was six (that’s when Miah and Willow both got theirs), so when she opened the package and saw Rebecca’s face staring back at her she was feeling like one lucky girl.

Willow Turns 7!

Willow shared her special day with her cousin Elizabeth (who was born less than 24 hours after her) and her sister.  If there is someone who would willingly and happily share her special day it would be Willow.  This past year, Willow has matured and grown into herself.  She has become more independent and her own person.  She has a sweet, quiet demeanor that kids and babies are attracted to.  She often has a baby on her hip or a toddler in tow.

Miah Turns 10!

The first double digit birthday throws me for a loop.  Seriously, how does 10 years go by so quickly?  Ten years!  That’s a decade!  That’s a lot of years gone by!  Ten years is also a lot of years to have been blessed with this little girl.  I can still call her a little girl, because after watching her and her friends at Camp Minimiah this summer, she is still a little girl.  She loves little girl things and that warms my heart.  She got to have her first “friend party” which is always very exciting.  We invited three of her favorite people to spent the night at Camp Minimiah…aka Grandpa Will and Grandma Vic’s farm.   The plan was to play camp games, swim, roast marshmallows, and then sleep in the camper.  However, with temps in the 100’s and a broken air conditioner in the camper, we thought Grandma Vic’s living room floor was a better idea.  They got to enjoy lots of other camp activities and the party was still a ton of fun.

Caden turned 12 this spring and celebrated his birthday with Romee.  They both have a deep, deep, love for Grandma B’s apple pie, so no cake for their party.  Right before school started, he celebrated with his friends.  he invited 4 boys to have a sleepover out at Grandpa and Grandma’s farm.  The air conditioning in the camper was fixed for Cade’s party, so the boys were able to sleep in the camper.  For his birthday, Caden received many cards with money in them (by his request).  He is saving for an iPod touch and actually has enough money saved up now, that he could make the purchase.  However, he has not acquired the iPod touch, simply because his mom and dad are kill joy’s (those are his exact words) concerned and want to be sure the time is right.  He will get the iPod eventually, but patients builds character!
