Baptism

With each additional child we realize and understand more fully the privilege we have in bringing our babies before the Lord in baptism. All of our children's baptisms were special, but as we recognize our older children spiritual growth, and we see them on a daily basis understand more fully what it means to be called a child of God, we are amazed at what an awesome privilege, yet huge responsibility baptism is!
My "big" girls thought that Amirah should have her toenails painted for her big day. We managed to paint very quickly during one of her naps!

Grandma B, did the beautiful smocking on the front of Amirah's dress and on the bonnet. We had a local dress maker incorporate the smocked piece into the dress. I have always loved smocking! I was going for a vintage look, and the smocking along with pin tucks on the bottom defiantly achieved the "the look". Thank you Grandma B for making the dress so very special!
When she had her bonnet on, she looked like a baby that was casting for a part on "Little House on the Prairie"...I love that show!

Grandma-Great made the 5 hour trek, along with my Aunt Leanne and Tess. We were also very excited to have Gretchen and Dana...our "adoptive daughters" here as well! We spent Saturday boating, eating, laughing, and eating some more! We had a wonderful weekend of celebrating with family and friends. The first song on my play list, "He Knows My Name", is the song that Jill and JJ sang for the baptism. It is a favorite song of our kids, so decided to use it for the baptism. They did a wonderful job.
