Beethoven is in the House

I told Caden that I was referring to him as "Beethoven" in my blog and he responded with, "Don't do that! That guy was creepy!" Caden did a report on Beethoven in music class in September. He started recalling information about the report, like how dark and mysterious the man was. He told me one story after another of how he would yell, get angry, and even scold young children. Cade wondered if it was because he had a really rough childhood or maybe because he was losing his hearing. Wow, that kid remembers everything! Well, after my little conversation with Caden it was clear that likening Cade to Beethoven was NOT a compliment!

I love this picture! Here the two "old men", as we like to call them, are busy discussing their performances.
Caden started taking piano lessons this fall, and absolutely loves going each week. He enjoys his weekly chats with Minerva. Minerva and Cade are kindred spirits...they both cheer for the Twins and the Cyclones. Most of the time Caden can't tell me what Minerva said about his lesson, but he can tell me what was in her candy jar. We love Minerva and appreciate how she can get a 9 year old boy excited about piano!
