SCCS 5K Fun Run

I have had the privilege of serving on the PACE (Parents in Action for Christian Education) team for the past two years.  PACE is a a support system for the teachers, administrators, and the families of SCCS.  We provide assistance wherever it is needed, but especially financially.  Our goal is to keep tuition costs down for families who desire a Christ-centered education for their children.  Throughout the year, we do several fundraisers and also start each year off with a fellowship event.  For the second year, the Fun Run has served as the fellowship event.  Our family was not able to participate last year, but this year everyone (but Cade) participated in the 5K run.  Caden thinks he participated, because he cheered yelled at us as we ran past the back of our house!  Miah trained with Tyra for about three weeks before the run.  They placed 3rd and 4th in their age division.  Willow ended up placing 2nd in her age division, but we later found out that the little girl who placed 1st didn’t run all the way to the turn around.  Even though her medal says second, she’s a first place in our minds!  Bryan and I ran with Willow and kept telling her that whenever she wanted to stop and walk we were just fine with that.  The girl never stopped running..for 3 miles!  She also talked in full sentences the entire race.  I can hardly get out one word answers in the middle of a run.  Oh, to be young again!
