Last Year

I heard on the radio this morning when I was driving the kids to school, that last year on this day, it was 86 degrees.  What a difference a year can make!  Last year at this time, Romee was turning 5.  She stayed at home with me everyday and seemed so little.  Today she turned 6 and couldn’t wait to get to school to share her birthday treat with her classmates!  She is strong and confident and seems so grown up.  What a difference a year can make!

She wanted to take homemade toffee for her birthday treat.  I only make toffee one time a year, at Christmas.  With snow on the ground, temps in the 30’s and the smell of toffee boiling in the house, it felt like Christmas here last night.  It certainly isn’t Christmas!  It is spring and it is this little girl’s 6th birthday.  Happy Birthday Romee Noelle!

Her parties will be celebrated on Sunday, but make no mistake we will be celebrating her today as well.  She at breakfast at the bakery with her daddy this morning.  Her birthday supper request was Pizza Ranch and we will eat homemade coffee ice cream for dessert!
