Cade’s basketball season has been over for almost a month now. He finished his AAU season with a tourney in Sioux Falls the last weekend in March. His school ball season runs right over into the AAU season which means months of basketball for this kids, which he is more than happy about. Bryan has coached Cade’s AAU teams (both at the Christian School and at Sioux Center) for the past 4 years. It has been such a fun thing for me to watch. It has meant hours and hours of (our) time, but I would do it all again. Sometimes parents coaching their kids isn’t a positive thing, but it has been such a blessing to our family.
This was my view from the stands most Saturday’s. Amirah sat right next to Bryan at every tourney. She went to practice with him almost weekly. She took great pride in getting Cade his water and towel the minute her returned to the bench. This little girl adores her big brother! She had her nose right in every huddle at time-outs as well. I would ask her after the game what daddy said to the boys. She could tell me almost word for word.
