Never Gets Old: Day 5 & End of Week One

Today was cold and windy.  The wind was blowing off of the lake making it feel even colder than it was in degrees.  It was a jeans, sweatshirt, socks, and tennis shoes kind of day.  One of those each week, always makes you grateful for the beautiful days you had the rest of the week.  It was a perfect day for games in the lodge, shuffleboard, or reading in your cabin.

I LOVE this picture of Romee.  Pants hanging off her butt, heading down to the dock for some fishing!  She is actually heading to the pontoon for the annual pontoon fishing outing.  Grandpa B rents the pontoon for 2 hours and takes all the grandkids fishing for an hour.  He does it in two shifts, so all the kids get their turn.  Grandpa B has been under the weather all week, so he was a trooper for heading out in the cold, wet, weather so the kids could still enjoy the pontoon fishing trip!

I pack enough clean clothes for one week, so a visit to the laundry mat was on the list for today.

Oh to be sixteen again!  Caleb turns sixteen tomorrow.  Happy Birthday Caleb John.  I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday.  Caleb is a very, very, bright young man, and he is also determined.  He had decided that he really wanted to go for one more ski run, even if he had to do it in very cold and windy weather.  So, they took him to the calmest shore they could find and he got his last ski run in for the week.

These two are also very determined.  They were determined to convince someone to take them out fishing one last time.  Bryan was the sorry sucker and agreed to an hour of fishing.  This is what they came home with!  The last and biggest fish of the week.  They are two of the sweetest boys you will ever meet, but they are relentless when I comes to fishing.  They are constantly hatching a plan to get themselves in a boat to go fishing.  I guess sometimes it pays off.

We had a great week and can’t wait to do it all again next week!
