Big Sand 2014

Day 3 of Big Sand 2014 has come to a close and we have certainly made the most of the days and evenings here.  The kids have logged hours, and hours of swimming and the first fillets of fish are in the freezer.  We have had absolutely beautiful weather, but a storm is brewing and is supposed to hit in less than half hour.  The kids are all tucked snug in their bed, while the adults sit up tracking the storm.  There is no cable and spotty internet connection, so we are keeping our phones close by.  Today we witnessed the beauty and majesty of God in the towering pine trees, the clear blue water, and soaring eagles and tonight in the claps of thunder and the powerful winds.

Thanks to Uncle Chad, Romee is still sporting her sun hat.  The wind blew it off her head when she was kayaking this morning and Chad grabbed a pair of goggles and went diving!

Happy 14th anniversary to this lovely pair.  We celebrated with ice cream cake.

Dan and Bryan discussing how to keep the “Green Machine” safe through the storm.  Dan hooked it up to his Gater and pulled it up on shore.
