After 42 years of faithful service to his profession, Grandpa B retires! It was evident by the hundreds of people who came to wish him well, that he was a well loved and respected veterinarian. I over heard many farmers telling tales of visits from Dr. Bleeker. As you can imagine, many were very humorous. Even as the farmers told the humorous stories, you could sense the deep respect they have for the veterinarian that they so dearly love and will miss.
Grandpa B with the his two Bleeker boys. We are counting on Dave and Nikki to pick up the pace in this department. They are off to a good start. But of course, we thought we were too!
The Bleeker boys minus one. Isn’t that a handsome crew?
The Bleeker grandchildren minus many…12 to be exact.
We feasted on (really, really) good steak sandwiches, chips, baked beans, cookies, lemonade and the kids’ favorite, soft serve ice cream and toppings. I think Willow had three cups of ice cream…no wonder the machine couldn’t keep up. It was a wonderful night of food and fellowship, to celebrate a wonderful example of a man committed to the work he was called to do.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your hear, as working for the Lord, not for men, sine you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Colossians 3:23 -24
